photo export error 256 -

What should I do? I'm using Catalina on a MacBook Pro

MacBook Pro 15″, macOS 10.13

Hi - Please can you give more detail on exactly what you are doing.

What type of photo (EG Jpg, HEIC, Raw etc)

What are the steps you go though to export

What happens at each step

Has this always happened? If not how long for? Have you recently upgraded to catalina? If so from which version of Macos.

The more information you can give, the better chance of someone being able to help.

Jpg images, most taken with my iPhone, some imported but all in JPEG format.

If I edit them in Photos, I can no longer click and drag the edited version to an email, folder, etc. - the icon disappears over the destination location. I can sometimes export them straight from the editing page (Without clicking on "Done")

File --> Export 1 Photo --> Export ---> select location

and this exports an edited version, but yesterday when I did this I got the "Error 256" message and was not able to select a location

I deleted a lot of large files and photos late yesterday. I don't know if the limited disk space was the cause but the problem seems to have resolved for the time being.

Anything else I should do to keep this from happening again? Thanks.
