i phone 12 sim issues with total wireless
I have a new IPhone 12 directly from Apple and Total Wireless is unable to activate their SIM on it?

Total Wireless had been fine until this issue. It’s $25 per line for four lines, or $100 per month. Verizon prepaid costs $50 per line / month or more. That’s $100 more a month or $1200 per year, or about $5000 every four years. That’s real money. It’s worth a little hassle.
That is correct. Total Wireless does not support iPhones.

Update: I do see iPhone listed on Total Wireless’ website. I don’t know what is going on. Sorry.
My IPhone 6s has been working fine on TW for the last few years...their advanced tech support is stumped as well. Their response as of now is my IMED number is fine and my SIM is fine , but their system is not taking the combination of the two...and you are correct, they are also selling the new IPhone 12’s directly from their own site?????
I am going on day 5 with this issue...their tech managers struggle with the English language let alone trying to figure out the issue...last call to them had an annoying rooster crowing in the background.....Only good thein about TW is they use the VZ network...but your on you own for any other issues.
I have the same issue...there SIM cards don’t seem to support IPhone12’s. Not sure what I am going to do right now. I’ve had no complaints about Total Wireless until now. Been with them for over 5years with IPhone devices.
I'm patiently waiting for TW to figure this out. In the interim I am using my old sim in the new phone....getting good 5G where I live but notice only one bar while out and about were I use to get five bars of LTE....Looking at Visible phone company as an option...it also uses the VZ network.

I must admit I never understood this thinking. Why would you not simply use Verizon’s service directly? I’m guessing (I don’t know this) that the answer is “It’s cheaper.” OK, but then “You get what you pay for.” Surely using Verizon directly would provide a better experience.
Similarly, there are many issues with Consumer Cellular that we see here in the Communities.
I switched from iphone 11 pro to iphone 12 pro and just swapped the sim cards. It worked the first time. Phone and data are both working fine. TW did tell me I need to buy a new SIM card because the IMEI would be different. I told them it shouldn't matter, I own the phone and not making payments or getting any discounts for a new phone. TW has been great and half the price of Verizon on the same network. However, they are challenged with customer service if you have an issue.
Had same problem. Bought the iphone 12 unlocked from Apple website. TW said the IMEI (read it to them three times) showed the phone is not unlocked/not usable. Talked to TW level 2 tech support. Called AppleCare who said that the phone is not locked and couldn't figure it out. It's a shame. Someone recommended Visible wireless as an alternative. I will check out Visible.
My fix was porting my number to Visible for two months......service was Ok, but data would sometimes stop working requiring a reboot......after being on the visible network for two months I ported back to Total Wireless with no issues. I was able to do it online without their tech assistance.
I got the new iPhone 12 Pro Max used it for a day before realizing I didn’t have service since I was on wifi the whole time chatted with total wireless was told I needed a new SIM card ran to Walmart got the new sim activated still didn’t work the agent sent me to another chat technician after a bit found out the new sims was programmed to the phone to the last phone total wireless thought I was using ( iPhone 6+) but had been using it in my 11 pro max two days before I had always just switched sims to my new phones this tech said the new sim needed to be attached to the imei of the new phone once he did that it’s been working fine I never call since I can never understand them everyone I chatted with was very helpful
We've had iphone 8 plus with totalwireless for 2 years and have had no problems. 4 calls to Total wireless to try and activatation beyond frustrated with Total wireless.
I ended up using my old SIM....working for now, but I’m sure it probable wont last....
Verizon prices are insane.......I guess someone needs to pay for all the advertising.
Switched from Total Clueless to Visible......Very happy....
