I recently updated my iPhone X to 14.0.1 but ever since doing so I can’t play music through the usb. I keep getting a message that their no songs on this device. I don’t have car play just one that allows iPod connection. Car has been checked so that is not the issue.When I attach my iPad that still has older iOS versions every thing works fine.

We understand that you're having an issue using USB playback in your vehicle. Have you tried a different USB cable or port? You'll also want to make sure that your iPhone is updated to the latest release of 14.1. Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

You mentioned earlier that you don't have CarPlay. Are you able to connect to Bluetooth in your car? If so, do you get the same error message?

It is the update not the usb. It plays fine using my iPad which has not been updated but not on the X or 11 which are both updated with the 14.1. Worst update ever! It keeps saying there are no songs on the device which simply not true
