The app is saying it can’t update my watch because I’m not connected to internet but I am.

Why is it not letting me update my watch? It keeps telling me I’m not connected to internet but I am?

If you see Not connected to the Internet.

Restart your phone and your watch. Also you would be better off putting this in the Apple Watch section to get a better response as that is the area that people are there to assist with the watch. Not sure what phone you have, but if you do a restart of the phone and the watch, this should help with the issue that you are having. I have had this before and that worked for the issue for me.
