iPad Pro 12.9 2nd gen and magic keyboard
I’m trying to determine if the new Magic keyboard is compatible with my iPad Pro. Specs pick up at 3rd gen???

No, the magic keyboard is only compatible with the 12.9 3rd and 4th gen.
It is not compatible with the 12.9 1st and 2nd gen
This is because the 1/2nd gen and 3/4th gen are different sizes and have different connector location.
I have yet to find a keyboard with trackpad which fits on a 12.9 pro 1st or 2nd gen, as somebody else was asking on here yesterday about it as well.
Your only option would be a keyboard case then use a trackpad/mouse separately
