HP printer message about malware. Is there a work around?

HP revoked the security certificate for their driver software for reasons known only to them. Refer to multiple reports here: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Setup-Software-Drivers/bd-p/Software


  • If your printer / scanner is not an AirPrint device then it won't work until HP fixes their problem. 
  • If your printer / scanner is AirPrint-enabled, then remove it from Printers & Scanners, and add it again as an AirPrint device.


HP may have fixed it by now. Check Software Update: How to update the software on your Mac - Apple Support.
