How do I power down and restart a MacBook Pro without keyboard / cursor controls?

The screen is working. The cursor moves in response to the trackpad. But I can’t click on anything, and the keyboard doesn’t respond. I’m hoping a restart will fix things. But how do I force a power down and restart without keyboard access or ‘clickability’?

Please help if you can. This laptop is my livelihood! Thanks in advance, all my fellow Apple people.

Hold down the power button until the Mac shuts down.

Then press it again to turn it on.

Thanks to all three of you! Until a few minutes ago, I would have said: "Power button? WHAT power button?" But I used my iPad to find an Apple community help page, where I discovered that the Touch ID pad is also the power button. D'oh! As Homer Simpson would say. Anyway, I powered down and up again, and all is well. That was a worrying 30 minutes or so, though! Thanks again.
