Will the Apple Silicone Magsafe Case demagnetize cards in a traditional wallet?

I keep my phone and regular wallet in the same pocket. The case side resting against my wallet. In my wallet I keep the usual credit cards, DL and gaming cards used at Golfland, D&B...etc.

Will the magnet in the magsafe case have any affect on the cards inside my wallet since there is no type of "shield" like the Apple magsafe wallet to protect the cards from getting demagnetized?

I prefer to keep phone and wallet in same pocket and use my other pocket only for my keys.

Hi there spikeymike,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you have some questions about keeping your iPhone 12 and your credit cards together without damaging them. Our article: How to use your MagSafe Charger with iPhone 12 models says "Don't place credit cards, security badges, passports, or key fobs between your iPhone and MagSafe Charger, because this might damage magnetic strips or RFID chips in those items. If you have a case that holds any of these sensitive items, remove them before charging or make sure that they aren’t between the back of your device and the charger."

What that means is to make sure that your credit cards are not somehow sandwiched between your iPhone and the MagSafe charger. It should not be a problem otherwise.

We hope this helps!

Ok but I’m not talking about the apple wallet that has a built in shield or the MagSafe charger.

My question doesn’t even pertain to the Apple wallet or MagSafe charger.

What I am wondering is if the Apple MagSafe CASE has any effect to cards in a traditional wallet when both are placed in the same pocket. Traditional wallet meaning the bi-fold or tri-fold wallets that you hold cash, cards and DL... etc.
