Apple Watch awards missing on iPhone

Hello all,

I upgraded my previous iPhone to the iPhone 12 Pro today, and lost my my Awards/Accomplishments in the Activity app. I was able to resolve this, although with many hours of headaches...so I'd like to share my steps to prevent this for future users.

First and obviously, make a backup of your iPhone (which will backup your Apple Watch).

Unpair your Watch from the old iPhone.

When you restore your new iPhone from the backup, you will be asked to update your Watch during the initial migration. Choose to do this later.

Finish your installations, allow the app updates to complete.

Now pair your Watch, and you should see your previous data in the Activity app.

If you are finding this after you find your data missing, as I did, you will want to follow the previous steps in addition to doing a full Reset and Clear of the new phone. It's a long process, but if you want your data, then that's what you'll have to do. I'm assuming that the problem was due to the fact that it only loaded the data that could be stored on my watch (35 days worth for me).

I saw this, as well. I hope that you haven't wiped your old phone yet. If not, just unpair the watch from the new phone, re-pair it with the old phone. Once you've done this, you need to run a backup from the old phone. I've done this from iCloud, but should be the same for a local backup.

Once that's done, you'll need to go to Settings -> General -> Reset -> Erase All Content and Settings from the new phone. When you restart, perform the installation pointing to the new backup you just created. It will ask you to set up the watch when you do this the first time. Don't do that, this, I believe is where the problem occurs. Just click that you'll set it up later. Finish the re-installation of the new phone. After that's all done, and all your content and apps have been updated, then go to the Watch app on the phone, re-pair, and restore from the backup.

This did the trick for me. I hope it works, it'll be hard to get 491 Kilometers in the next two days ;).

Do you still have the last backup from that phone? If so, you'd loose the data from that point until now, but you'd still have the rest of your October goals in there. One thing I noticed is that when I first did this, all of my previous goals were there, but my September challenge was missing. It was there the next day. I know how frustrating that is, this was a tough challenge...so I really hope you can get it resolved.

I just upgraded to the 12 pro yesterday. I didn't unpair my watch with my old phone prior to transferring, it just automatically paired for me... all my activity records are there (all the way back to 2018 when I got the watch) but my awards are missing from the activity app (which is now labeled fitness on the new phone). I was almost to the October challenge goal but now I can't see it at all
