Apple watch flashes green snake of death and then wont come back up unless removed from charger and put back on

Hi guys and gals, I recently had a bad battery and I replaced it a few days ago, but when I put the watch on the original factory charger, it flashes the green snake of death for a second and then goes away. Nothing happens when i push the buttons and I have left it charging over night with no change. Any help would be appreciated. Oh its a Gen 1 7000 series.
