My phone is dead so how can I find it

Find my iphone requires the phone to have a network connection.

To have a network connection it has to have power.

You mean your iPhone has been lost and has run out of battery power. If that is correct then you will not be able find it by using the Find My app. What you will need to do now is to look for it physically if you want.
