How to transfer iMovie project form iOS to Mac

It used to be possible to export/save an iMovie project on iPhone/iPad and then import it on the Mac (and vice versa). However, it does no longer seem to be an option. All attempts on my iPad to export, save or AirDrop a project always ended up in an .mov file.

The iMovie website clearly states that transitioning between the devices should be easily possible. I am unable to successfully transfer a project.

Oh... I just found it. The sharing settings were set to "Video" and had to be changed to "iMovie Project Bundle".

Even though the button is right there it's very easy to overlook that.
