Activity measured when watch locked?

While my Apple Watch is on my wrist, but locked, will it still track my activity? Sometimes I forget to unlock it and I wanted to make sure it’s still tracking my steps, calories, etc.

Hello Lauren_nichole,

Thanks for asking about exercise while your Apple Watch is locked.

Yes, your watch will track some things, like your steps or activities to close your rings: Track daily activity with Apple Watch - Apple Support

In other cases, such as swimming or specific workout types, if your watch notices you are working out, it may ask if you want to start a workout. Otherwise, you will need to start your workout: Use the Workout app on your Apple Watch - Apple Support

Thanks and have a wonderful day.
