Have tried twice to transfer data and it says move device closer and both devices are neat to each other

Thanks for coming to Apple Support Communities for help today with Quick Start. It sounds like you are receiving a message that the devices should be closer together.

Have a look here: Use Quick Start to transfer data to a new iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. Be sure all the steps are being followed. You can use a wired connection as well.

If you still aren't able to get Quick Start to work, you will need to use another method: Transfer data from your previous iOS device to your new iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
