"Purchase Date not Validated" When checking MacBook Air serial number

Hello,

I just bought Apple MacBook Air from Flipkart. When checking to serial to make sure they were authentic, it says "Purchase Date not Validated". What does this mean? I have never seen this when checking serials for any other Apple product.

Are these authentic? What happens when I put in the purchase date? And can I put in the purchase date if these were bought from flipkart.

Please let me know what I do now?

Thanks

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.15

An incorrect purchase date cannot be corrected online. You need to contact Apple Support by phone:

Who/what is flipkart? Never mind, I see it's an online store that sells everything......

Obviously not an authorized reseller.

Is the device supposed to be new? Still in factory sealed box?

If someone bought a lot of older machines, the warranty may no longer be valid or there could be a number of other reasons. If it is new, you would need to contact Apple with proof of purchase receipt to change your warranty details.
