Pathetic Built in camera video quality in Macbook Air 2019

Was a diehard Apple fan with my Macbook Air 2014.

Still have that - and also picked up a new Macbook Air 2019 last Nov - and faith in Apple has been crumbling ever since.

Inbuilt camera of 2019 model is a colossal downgrade - it couldn't capture my signature in Preview, and image quality in video calls are disastrous - dark, blurry, pixellated - while 2014 model captures signature and gives great video images in same light and angle.

Authorised service centre says all recent models have the same camera quality and they have received a spate of complaints on this. A search on the internet revealed a record of such complaints since 2018. Why hasn't Apple addressed them yet?

Am stuck with a premium priced laptop and substandard video quality in client video calls.
