16:9 photos on ios 14.1 iPhone XR doubling up in Photos

Hello,

I was please to find a 16:9 option on my iPhone XR camera app after the last opdate to IOS 14.1.

I was hoping this would mean I could ditch the 3rd party app I have been using.

The photos look great on the phone but when i import them to Photos on my Mac thy get imported once as 4:3 and then again as 16:9.

Is there any way I can stop this happening?

There may be two formats when taking the photos.

Check the Settings.

I think you are right, the 16:9 photos are HEIC and the 4:3 ones are JPEG.

Now just to find the correct settings.
