Keyboard not appearing in app library search

Everytime I go to search for something in my App Library, the keyboard never pops up. I only get the keyboard to appear directly after installing software updates. After that, it just disappears and never seems to come back. Is there a way to get the keyboard back?

Whenever I go to the search bar in the far left screen on my iPhone (where all the app widgets used to be stored), the keyboard appears and works fine. However, when I go to the search bar in the App Library, it doesn’t appear (I can still type, so the keyboard is there, I just can’t see the keyboard so I have no way of typing out specific letters or words).

Hi jayF17Z,

To clarify, your keyboard works properly until you swipe into the App Library. After that, the keyboard no longer appears, is that correct?

While it is expected behavior for the keyboard not to appear in the App Library unless you tap on the Search bar across the top of the App Library screen, when you tap on Search does it show up then?

You can see more details about the App Library below:

Additionally, after going back to one of your other Home Screens, or into a different app, does the keyboard function then?

Let us know a few more details about when the keyboard does or does not appear, and we'll proceed form there.

Cheers!

H ijayF17Z,

Thanks for confirming for us.

From here, we'd recommend restarting the iPhone:

Once restarted, test if the keyboard works properly again. If it does not, check under Settings > General > Keyboard > Keyboards, is the default keyboard in use or a third-party one? If you are not using the default keyboard, take a moment to switch to it and let us know if the problem persists.

Let us know the results and we'll follow up from there.

Take care.
