I have been using a hard drive for 2-3 years, every time it asks me to unlock with password when I connect it.
Now just out of the blue it has stopped asking for the password. Has anyone encountered this issue?
Let me know if there is a solution. I tried finding the drive in "key chain" but no luck when I search for the drives name in the top-right corner.

Open Keychain Access, select your login Keychain, and scan the list. It is most likely a password entry, and you may be able to search for the name of the drive.
The drive doesn’t need to be connected.
The only thing I can think of is to decrypt it and re-encrypt it, but you might have to use Terminal to do so. The OS defaults to converting to APFS when you encrypt from the Finder.
Does Disk Utility say it is encrypted?
Log into your Mac as another user and try to mount the drive.

I cant find a thing that is related to the external hard drive under Login Keychain. Name of drive is "Elements"
File system of drive: "MAC Os Extended (Case-Sensitive, Journaled, Encrypted)
Still not asking for password when I connect the drive... Weird..

I also can't see the "decrypt" option in finder when I right-click on my external hard drive :( I followed a guide, but I don't have this option.
Is there an "Encrypt..." option?
Maybe it has already been decrypted somehow.

Yes, I don't get it. Very scary that the encryption can just "stop" and vulnerable files is open for anyone that can use the disk.

Look in Keychain Access for an entry for the hard drive. You may have inadvertently saved the password in your keychain.
When "Get Info" it says:
File system of drive: "MAC Os Extended (Case-Sensitive, Journaled, Encrypted)
