Apple Care

I have an iPhone 8 Plus and I had to file an insurance claim and get a new one, it had Apple Care coverage as an option and I procrastinated and forgot to hit it before the 30 days were up and it’s has been 38 days since I got it and online when I enter my serial number it says not eligible for this device. Any reason why? I had thought they changed it to where it was available for up to 60 days after purchase.

I think they changed it on October 12.

Any reason why?

Apple doesn't discuss such things. Here's a suggestion: Contact Apple Support by phone and ask them if you can update your purchase date for the purposes of purchasing an AppleCare Agreement.

No promises.
