Manual View of Turn by Turn Directions in Carplay Possible?

I'm new to Carplay, coming from using actual navigation systems from Garmin, and had a question about navigation in apple maps. Is there a way to manually view the upcoming turns during an active route. I see things online where you can get SIRI to state this but I'm looking for a list of my next turns. So if I'm on my current route and want to double check which is the next street I'm going to be turning onto, is there a way to do this manually?

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you want to see the written out directions, turn by turn, using CarPlay and your iPhone. We'll be happy to guide you.

To use all of the functions and options of Maps, follow these steps: Get turn-by-turn directions with CarPlay.

To view the steps all together in a list on your iPhone, go to Maps > Type in or dictate the address of your intended destination > Tap "Go" > Swipe up from the bottom and tap Details. We hope this helps.

Well that's not really what I'm looking for as I found you can view them on your phone with an active route, but I am looking to view all the Turn by Turn directions within my Carplay display. I don't want to have to ask SIRI what my next turn is.

Basically the view we see on our Phones, within the maps app, is what I want to see on the CarPlay display. But that doesn't seem to exist based on what I'm seeing in the linked article. Having to look at 2 different screens isn't really safe and takes away the point of using CarPlay if I have to look at my phone still. Appreciate the linked article though.
