deleting/erasing info from old phone and copying same info to new phone.

when I delete anything from my old phone it also deletes the same item from my new phoned Mac computer, including photos, contacts, apps, etc. I would like to give up my old phone but I want to erase all data from the old phone without affecting my new phone or computer.

When you are getting rid of an iOS device, you don't delete things individually since, as you've discovered, that may delete the item from iCloud and all connected devices.


Instead, follow these instructions explicitly:
