Iphone 12 hot and not charging

This night my iPhone 12 has been connected to a 5W charger for 7 hours.

The phone was hot and charged to 80%.

What could be wrong?

Hi Riana,

Thanks for your reply. As you noticed correctly Optimized Charging has been enabled. This could have been the reason for loading to no more than 80%.

Still I don’t think this was the only problem. The iPhones temperature is what worries me. This continued after disconnecting from the charger.

The heating stopped after a hard reset.

The reset also solved a (unmentioned) problem with a game I was playing. I could not ‘feel’ my commands. After the reser this worked fine again.

I assume the ‘chip’ causing the feelability was somehow locked in active state. This draws a lot of current causing the iPhone to overheat and the battery to drain.
