iphone is disabled. how can we reset if it won't connect to itunes

Phone did an update over night, tried to open this morning and the phone is disabled. trying to connect to iTunes and it won't recognize the phone. How can we get back into the phone using iTunes?

If your computer doesn't recognise your iPhone.

Also try alternative Lightning cables, and USB Ports on your computer.
