Apple TV 3rd generation is blinking rapidly

How do I stop the blinking? Can't stream anything via Apple play to TV....HELP! I see where there is needed to a micr-cable to plug into micro USB port...don't have - what can I use

HELP!

Restore your Apple TV - Apple Support

You will need a Micro-USB cable to restore through a computer. Such a cable was never included in the box. You can buy these cables in many electronics shops or online. Verify that your cable supports data transfer, as some product-bundled cables are charging-only.

Is the same kind of cable that is used with a Nook?

I think the more recent models Nook e-readers also use a Micro-USB cable.

(The older models had a wider connector.)

Thank you. I may try that before I purchase from Best Buy as no AppleStore here. Only store around that has more options
