iMessage activation error on iPhone 12 pro

My iMessage will not activate with my phone number only Apple ID.

iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 14

I restored the phone multiple times and it still did the same thing. It would not activate and then it started interfering with my watch. I did all the troubleshooting that was allotted with both the carrier and Apple. Nothing worked. I ultimately ended up returning the phone until Apple has worked the kinks out because I’ve been reading that that has been a problem with the new phones.

Call Apple because there could be a “block” on your Apple ID.

Before you call them make sure you are able to successfully log in to applied.apple.com and check to see if you can view your billing information. If you are able to log in then call Apple and let them know your iPhone says “iMessage Activation”.

If this is happening then there is a chance your FaceTime won’t work either.

Definitely call Apple to get it “unblocked”
