Hi, MrVinegar.
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. We’re glad you decided to reach out about the issue you’re experiencing with the audio volume on phone calls on you iPhone SE. IF we understand correctly, the volume is only low when you have your iPhone SE held to your ear using the Receiver or when on speakerphone. It sounds like using a Bluetooth accessory allows you to hear perfectly fine.
- First, make sure you’re adjusting the volume while you’re on a call. The sound settings are different for your phone calls than media like music and podcasts. Unless you’re actively on the call, the volume you adjust will be for media. If you haven’t already tested both the Receiver and speakerphone, try that too. That will help us isolate it even further.
- It’s also a good idea to remove your case and any protective film or cover and test, if applicable.
- Test with a FaceTime call, too. This will let us know if it's exclusive to the Phone app, or if it's happening in other apps as well.
If you’re not able to isolate further or find a resolution from here, try reaching out to Apple Support to see if they have any guidance.
