Credit card processing is temporarily unavailable?

Anyone else getting this in iTunes today?

I'm trying to pay for a gift purchase and everytime I enter my security code (on the credit card associated with my account) iTunes says Credit card processing is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later.

Any ideas?

This is not a new card....same card that's been on my account. I called the credit card company and everything is fine with the card.

I'm having the same problem today. I've been using the same credit card for some time now without any problems. I went to update my apps and it said the security code is incorrect. I put in the correct security code and now I get that credit card processing is temporarily unavailable, please try again later. It's later! I've had this problem since last night. I've had several friends mention the same thing. I guess this is something to be expected from Apple since they have recently been giving themselves a bad reputation.

I'm having the same problem here. Been trying to sort this out for the last month. I have contacted Itunes numerous times but to no avail. I have come to the conclusion that the problem lies in Itunes software not your banking information. I have been using the same card and same address for over two and a half years then all of a sudden the information is in correct? I don't think so! Now I buy music from Walmart for .94 cents and when you download the songs they are automatically added to Itunes.

Same problem here. Just tried buying a song this weekend since the upgrade to iTunes 10 and now I get the that my request to confirm my credit card is temporarily unavailable. I did get a support email from Apple and said that it was probably my acceleration software (I have none) or my ISP firewall preventing iTunes from working. However I can navigate just fine within the iTunes Store...

Apple please help!!!

I recently upgraded to an iPhone 4, and was hit with this problem when trying to update apps on the phone. It has now effected every device under that account name - I can't download anything from the iTunes store.

I've emailed iTunes support, and had called Apple Support. After a few days and countless emails and phone conversations - they consolidated all the reports under the iTunes case number. This started on September 27 for me. It is now in one of the upper tier support area, where I hope it gets resolved in due time.

In my case, the security code for my credit card (same one being used for the past 5 years, and expiration date already upgraded once) was always blank and would let you enter a number, and the phone number area were always blank, but once you clicked "done" I would get the "iTunes cannot process at this time. Please try again."

From my troubleshooting - it appears to be a problem at the server end - not my devices. Use the iTunes support email and start a case if you're having this problem.

I was finally able to download a song today!! Don't know if Apple fixed the issue or if turning off my Apple firewall did the trick. I turned off my Apple firewall, re-entered my credit card number, security code and phone number and my credit card was able to be verified. However I turned my firewall back on and tried another song and it still worked. So hopefully the issue is permanently fixed.

I have been dealing with this problem for a few months now. No solution as of yet. I have had some email exchange with apple as they have tried to assist me in solving this issue. When I switched over to mac I expected it to be more user friendly than windows, instead it has become a nightmare dealing with all these little petty problems.... All i know is that if I cant find a way to pay for my apps legally, I will resort to other ways to get the apps and media I need.

(I am an HSBC premier client... aka nothing wrong with my card!)
