LIfe After IOS 14 Upgrade

If your iPad has a Home button.

Try a hard reset of your iPad by holding down both the Home and sleep/wake buttons simultaneously until your iPad goes to black and restarts with Apple logo, then release the buttons.

If your iPad has no Home button.

1. Press and release the volume UP button.

2. Then immediately press and release the volume DOWN button.

3. Then, press and hold the Power button at the top.

You will see the Slide to Power off button, but keep on holding down the Power button until you see the Apple logo, then let it go.

Once you have performed all the steps, wait for a few seconds and your iPad Pro will boot up completely to the iPad Pro’s Lock screen.

As I had skipped for many years all of iOS 11 ( complete garbage iOS from start to finish ), skipped iOS 12 ( which got better toward the end of the update cycle, but I had waited too long to do the last 12.4.5 update ), skipped iPadOS 13 as it was all over the map, quality and stability-wise.

I have found iPadOS 14 ( currently 14.2 ) to be very good and stable with little to no issues.

I can't say that for iOS 11-13.

I finslly decided and went and ugraded both my older 2016, 12.9 inch iPad Pro models and my wife's 7th gen iPad and her iPhone SE, a few weeks ago, to iOS/iPadOS 14.2 and have had no obvious issues, at all.

Everything is functioning very smoothly for all of our iOS/iPadOS devices.

Have both of you tried hard resets of your iPads?

I am having precisely the same issues on my 1st generation iPad Pro. It really really sucks.

I haven't tried hard reset yet, 14.3 Beta2 seems a bit better, but email and notes still not working. And MS Teams and Outlook fail to start as well. I'll try the reset.
