It appears that you're missing some icons on your iPad after updating to iPadOS 14.1. We understand how disconcerting this is, and we're glad to help with this.
Use Search on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support -- You can search for the missing icons using the steps in this article. If they've been placed in a folder, the name of the folder should appear to the right of the app.
Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup - Apple Support -- If you backed up your iPhone before updating to iPadOS 14.1, you can restore the backup which will place your icons back where they were. Be aware that if you've added any new information since the date of the backup, the new information will be overwritten.
Return iPad settings to their defaults - Apple Support -- If you're still unable to locate the icons you can reset the Home Screen Layout. This will return your built-in apps to where they were originally located, and you'll need to arrange your icons again.
