Setting up new iPhone with existing Apple ID

I just purchased a new iPhone. I want to set it up using my existing Apple ID. I don'e want to transfer any data from my old iPhone. I wish to use both my iPhone devices with the same Apple ID. Is this possible? And how?

iPhone SE, iOS 10

Just signin with the same apple id. That should be all you need to do.

You can do that as long as you don't restore a backup of the old phone to the new phone or turn on iCloud syncing on the new phone.
