Optimal Resolution for External monitor

Hi guys,

I used BenQ EW2480 (21:9, 1080p) for the external monitor of my MacBook air, mid 2013model.

Now the issue is when using either 1600*900 or 1080p, "Dock" was hidden half of the way and "Menu bar" is completely disappeared.

How can I choose the optimal resolution when using the external monitor to have "menu bar" available?

Not a problem. To be honest I don't know if it will support 1080. I happen to still have a 2013 13" MacBook Air but I've never used an external monitor. You could try the trial of SwitchResX and see what options are available.

Thank you for your help!

i found out actually there are a few softwares like the one you named

Basically the problem is MacBook has a ratio of 16:10, my monitor is 16:9; naturally the Menu bar and dock section will be compromised when mirroring.

Anyway i will try some software solutions to see if it can get fixed.
