I wish to buy a transcend jetdrive 855 witch i put the link below and use it as a boot drive :
I am under Catalina 10.15.6
i see that my Imac got a thunderbolt port.
This device is compatible with my imac ?
Can i use this device as boot device ?

Absolutely and positively wrong! USB 3.0 is 5 Gb/s!
USB 2.0 is 480 Mb/s

Compatible simply means you can use a USB2 device with it.
What you are looking at is internal drive:

And note, the speeds are megabytes per second, not megabits
Thunderbolt 1 got 10Gb/s, so better results than usb 3.0

USB 3.0 is limited to 480Mb/s, thunderbolt is much higher. Thats why i ask about this device.
Moreover, USB3.2 is more reliable and faster with a UASP protocole, but my imac got USB 3.0 witch is limited on transfer rate.
UASP protocole gives better results.
just need a SSD with UASP compatible like this :
