Recover messages
I was wondering how I can recover text messages that were accidentally deleted.

go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud and check if the switch for Messages is turned on
if it's turned ON, you will not be able to recover your messages
if it's turned OFF, you might be able to recover your messages.. IF you have an iPhone backup that contains the texts you wish to restore. In which case, you'd need to restore your iPhone to that backup. Note that you will likely lose other data by doing this
