iOS 14.1 - notifications interrupt streaming apps

I installed iOS 14.1 on my 6th gen iPad. Now every notification I receive causes my streaming apps to stop streaming. Anyone figured out how to fix this?

Notification Issues following ios16 update(s) Following ios16 update(s) I stopped receiving notifications for the following apps: BeReel, Signal, GroupMe, BrightWheel, and a few others. All notifications are one (have turned off and back on), all general notifications are on, all apps are up to date. I must find a solution. Several notifications are vital to my day to day.

We understand that you are having some difficulty with notifications on your iPad, and we'd like to help.

See if changing the notification type (Banners, etc.) resolves the issue: Use notifications on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

If you're still having issues, try restarting your iPad: Restart your iPad
