Lack of multipoint connection for AirPods

Tried AirPods for 4 months. Does not seem to be suitable as business class device. I connect to my iPhone, android phone, and Mac computer, however I must manually switch between devices--unacceptable and need a work around or another device like my prior Plantronics (now Poly) Voyager 5200. I need to be able to be listening to audio on my desktop Mac (or iPad) and automatically answer a phone call on my iPhone--or listening to music on one device and answer a call on another. I switch between devices frequently and am tired of having to tell a caller to hold on as I manually switch my AirPods connection between devices. There must be a way to do this as I can not imagine a mature business class device to not have the capability of multipoint connections. Any help here or just buy another Voyager 5200?
