Vietnamese Keyboard in macOS (VNI)

When I insert a word within existing Vietnamese text using the VNI Vietnamese keyboard on my Macbook, the word I enter is initially deleted once I hit the space bar. When I go back using the arrow, the word can be retyped and does not get deleted. This happens every time. Is this a bug?

When I switch to any input sources (Telex, Simple Telex, VNI, eg.) and typing keyboard, no character is displayed on screen. But if I switch back to US input source, everything works fine. Vietnamese Keyboard Issue: Lost words Hi Apple, We has a lost word issue with Vietnamese keyboard and it lasted for a long time with several the big macOS upgrades. using japanese keyboard in pages I'm using the Japanese characters keyboard input on my MacBook Pro M1. When I start typing hiragana I get a line below each character I type and then a pop up menu makes suggestions, in some cases changing what I type to kanji. So far, the only way I can type what I want is to switch back to the US keyboard (which is a pain after typing just one word). How do I stop the lines from appearing so I can type hiragana without stopping?

Does this happen in all apps, including Mail, Safari, Notes, Pages, Message, TextEdit?
