Lightning port is the same. Plug it in and look at the Finder.

Plug in the USB-C cable to your Mac.
Turn on the iPhone.
On the Mac look at the Finder sidebar.
The cord that came with the IPhone12 Pro does not fit in my MacBook Pro. I am using the old USB cord. The old cord is allowing the phone to charge but iTunes is not recognizing the phone.
