Why will my mag safe charger not work with iPhone 12
I should have asked this question. The OP needs to have a charging brick rated to at least 20W for Magsafe to work, I believe.
You need to verify that the phone is wireless charging. Mine stopped after 1 week. Apple will take care of it but find a wireless charging pad other than the one you are using and verify it is not the phone.
I don't know why. Is your phone in a case and if it is, is the case Magsafe capable?
What are you plugging the cable into?
Force Restart your phone and see if it works after you sign back in.
I've decided to NOT even consider the new Magsafe system. I prefer the slow and steady charging method for our phones. Battery health on my iPhone 11 Pro Max, now a full year in my possession is still at 100%. My phone goes on a 7.5W wireless charger at night while I sleep and the battery is ready for the next days use when I get up. This has been what I've done every single night since I got iPhone X and my first wireless charger.
I have a case that’s supported with the mag safe charging
Only the new 20 watt charger actually charges "fast".
Even the new 18 watt charger takes nearly twice as long and I don't even know about the most common 5 watt charger of years ago.
You are missing out on the greater convenience of wireless charging. One of the only issues I have ever faced with an iPhone is when the lightning port gets lint or other grit in it. Not needing to connect a lightning cable each night and disconnect it each morning is just as good as starting your car with a push button starter vs having to fumble for your key.
I don't need Magsafe to enjoy cable free charging. I haven't used cabled charging since iPhone X and have Qi Wireless chargers in my home and my office. I don't need to pay another $40 to have a circular puck magnetically attach to the back of my phone. My Qi chargers do just fine.
Actually, it did, but you must not have noticed it:

Okay then, your earlier comments didn’t indicate you were using wireless charging. Good to know!
