PDE.plugin

Hello

I need some help if you can. Last week I got a pop up saying product improvement study.hptask will damage your computer. So I deleted it and emptied the trash and ran malwarebytes. Nothing came up. Than I got PDE.login pop up saying same thing. I deleted it and emptied the trash. Ran malware bytes and nothing came up.

When I searched here it seems the problem was the printer. I see there is a fix for the driver. I did not do that yet since I no longer have the pde.plugin on my computer.

1. Do I need PDE.plugin on my computer or was it part of the printer?

2.  If I need PDE.plugin, can I download somewhere or can I get it from a time machine backup. I have a external drive with a backup on it.  If I can get it from the time machine machine backup, can you explain how to do it. I have not needed to use the time machine backup yet.

Thanks for any help you can provide me. I am using Catalina.
