iPad Air (3rd Generation) screen freezing.

I have an iPad Air (3rd Generation) and I have been having issues of late with my screen freezing or becoming non-responsive. For example, i would have to tap the Safari icon multiple times before the application comes up. How do i fix this issue?

Start with this basic troubleshooting step, a "forced" restart of your iPad:

iPad models with Face ID: Press and quickly release the Volume Up button. Press and quickly release the Volume Down button. Then press and holdthe Power button until the device restarts.
iPad models with Home button, iPhone 6s or earlier, and iPod touch (6th generation) or earlier: Press and hold both the Home and the Top (or Side) buttons until you see the Apple logo.
