Silenced When iPhone is Locked?

In "settings" under "do not disturb" in the "silence" area it now seems (after recent update) that I MUST choose between my phone being silent "always" or silent "while iPhone is locked". I don't want either of those options to be selected. I lock my phone all the time to prevent misdials, facetime calls, etc...What do I do? How can I get back to my phone notifying me about incoming messages while locked?

How do you uncheck "Silence" under Do Not Disturb - iPhone 11pro Under the Do Not Disturb portion of settings there is the SILENCE section that only allows two options 1) Always 2) When phone is locked. I don't want either of these options because my phone is locked most of the time. Regardless of my phone being locked, I still want to be notified if I get text messages, which it currently does not do. Why is there only two options here? Why isn't there an option to disable it all together? This is a huge pain in the ass! I should be able to lock my phone for the safety of it's contents, but still be able to communicate when people are texting me.

New Update Do Not Disturb I usually keep my iphone on do not disturb but with this new update it actually TELLS people that I am texting that my phone is silenced. Is there a way to turn off that feature? I don’t need other people knowing my business like that.

Those options ONLY take effect if DND is turned on.
