New sleep alarm in ios 14 is terrible

How can I change the sleep alarm back to it’s old interface. The new process for changing alarms where i have to click more times and can’t scroll the numbers to change the time is terrible, I want the old alarm back. The new clunkiness is seriously messing with my morning and nighttime routine. I was able to do everything in the alarm app but now to change the sleep alarm I also have to go to the health app? Keep it simple pleae.

I just got my post deleted. Why is it not constructive if I say that the new sleep alarm is COMPLICATED, PEOPLE (including myself) DO NOT LIKE IT, WE WANT TO HAVE THIS FUNCTION REMOVED or at least choose whether we want to use it or not. Thank you.

Agreed. The new alarm is absolutely terrible. After installing the update and I had to go to health and create a sleep schedule to set the alarm! Ridiculous. Not only that, but the alarm is not nearly loud enough even at full volume and I missed my wake up time and was almost late to work now on multiple occasions. Whatever mastermind was behind this whole process should lose their job. I am having to now purchase a conventional alarm clock so I can wake up on time. Omg.

Same here. Steve Jobs would not have allowed this "little detail" to slip through the development cycle. The alarm clock is clunky, inefficient, and annoying every time I use it now. I LOVED the old alarm clock UI - so simple, easy, efficient. Please, please, please change it back on the next iOS upgrade!

This is a really pathetic response. You have not addressed the issue at all. The issue is that the added button element takes longer, is less aesthetically pleasing and is clunky. How about addressing the issue instead of linking irrelevant help pages?

The new update robs us of a tactile and enjoyable experience and instead of allowing a swap to the old removes it entirely. Why?

100% agree. The new alarm setting GUI is absolutely terrible. It used to be a really nice interface with haptic feedback and that ‘rolling’ dial to choose hours and minutes was actually a joy to use.

Now the time-dial has shrunk to a tiny, unusable size that your thumb obscures when your roll it and a giant keypad appears making up half the screen. This is a bizarre design decision. It did not need revamping backwards in development. I don’t get it at all. I dread setting alarms now as it’s such a pig to use. How on earth did this get through?

Please revert back to the previous and perfectly good, easier and more efficient previous incarnation. Such a disappointment.

Hello sappers1x,

We understand that you prefer the previous method to setting alarms on your iPhone. You’re in the right place, we’d be glad to assist in seeking a solution.

You can also use the steps here to adjust the alarm: Use Bedtime to track your sleep on your iPhone

If this method still does not suit you, please leave feedback about this process here: Product Feedback

Have a great day.

I was an Apple user back in 2017 but switched to Android. I recently switched back to Apple because I wanted to know what the user experience was like and I’m already annoyed...

Outside of the inability to customize anything or schedule texts or take clear photos, the alarm app is so outdated and clunky.

I miss Android and am going to switch as soon as I can. Sorry Apple.

Hello! When are you all going to wake up and make this phone an interesting experience rather than a frustrating waste of time. Changing functionality just to change it is not cool, make it better or leave it alone. Don’t use change to justify your existence, it’s pretty obvious someone had to do something or get fired. They should have been fired.

I don’t understand how they are openly wasting all the space on the screen. I have a 12 pro and it’s insane how much wasted real estate there is. The screen is huge USE IT. It makes zero sense how small the flick wheel is now, considering how much empty space is around it. It is as if they are trying hard to be counterintuitive and destroy functionality.

The most ridiculous part is that the extremely tiny numbers of the clock that are now used could be way bigger but aren’t

there is so much room on the screen that is completely wasted. Tiny elements floating in a sea of screen. Pathetic, poorly designed and very poor use of resource.
