My iPhone app compiles fine in Xcode. When I click on run, it says "installing ... in iPhone-Simulator" and then I am getting this on Console:

[Session started at 2010-07-25 20:38:29 +0200.]
Failed to launch simulated application: Unknown error.

The iPhone Simulator pops up in iPad mode and shows me a black screen. I can't do anything, it wont let me return to the home screen or do anything else.

But it let me switch the device, so I can switch to iPhone mode. I will get to the iPhone home screen but it doesn't show my app there.

What am I doing wrong? How can I start the app in the simulator?

Are you sure you've created an iPhone app, not an iPad app?

Remember: "iPhone 3.2" SDK does actually mean iPad. If you want to develop an iPhone app, you're gonna have to use the 4.0 SDK or download an older version of Xcode.
