Hi, I am looking to purchase an Apple Watch, if you buy the gps + cellular option does this mean an additional price to your iPhone plan?
It does if you activate the Cellular with your provider.
You don't have to activate it.

With it deactivated, what does that do in comparison to just having the gps version?
It will be the same as the GPS version.
The only difference is that if ever you want to connect the Cellular to the watch you will not have to purchase a new watch.

It means that in order to make calls and send texts you have to have the phone with you,with the cellular activated means you can make calls and send texts and leave your phone at home.
