Apple Podcast App playback speeds up on its own

There seems to be a glitch in the App. While I’m listening to podcast channels and episodes, the playback automatically speeds up to speeds of 1 1/2 or 2 ...very fast in a “chipmunk” voice pace. I’m not even touching my phone. Sort of A fast forwarding effect. At first I thought it was Because of movement in my car or the cable attached to my phone. But I tested a few scenarios and still it happens randomly. Almost like some ghost Demond possessed my phone.
