There’s major lag for iMessage and the message app when it’s first opened. This is inclusive and not limited to when the application is first opened via the app centre or Home Screen all the way to when you tap the notification from your Lock Screen or your banner.
This is unresolved and still persists. This is in the most updated version of the iOS and I’m currently using an iPhone 12 Pro.

It's frustrating and kind of embarrassing that I went from an IPhone 6 to a 12 Pro & have a harder time getting a text message NOW with a brand new iPhone than my 6 PLEASE come up with some kind of fix Apple
It’s happening to me too with the text lagging.. I’ve also noticed sometimes it don’t even notify me when I have a text I only see it when I go to my messages.. seems like it’s getting worst with iMessages not some now showing up or will just pop up randomly later on a good time after it says I received text

APPLE PLEASE HELP this issue is not solved and is wide spread. It is unbearable and unacceptable that we have this issue occurring. It really ruins the phone experience. This needs to be fixed.
