Friend activity not updating real time.

Hello,

I am friends with a bunch of people on Activity so we can track each other and hold each other accountable and cheer them on when they achieve milestones etc. Everyone's activity updates real time and it reflects on my screen except one friend who's activity updates only when a notification is generated (for example, if they complete a workout or earn an award or close their rings), otherwise the activity will not update, so for the longest time throughout the day all the stats will be at 0 (Calories, Exercises minutes, Stand, Steps, Miles etc) until they complete a workout and suddenly the numbers are high. To add to that, they can see my activity just fine.

I do a lot of challenges with this person so it is important that I can track their progress in order to motivate them.

We both have iPhone 11 Pros and Apple watch series 3s. And we both updated to iOS 14 and WatchOS 7. I have unfriended and re-added them multiple times, I also tried unfriending, restarting my devices and sending the friend request again. But every day I face the same issue with the same friend. Please suggest how I can fix this problem!
