Can I recover my ipad pro in recovery mode if my computer is an HP, and not a Mac?

I want to know if I can use my HP computer to recover my IPad Pro in recovery mode since it's not an Apple device.

You cannot remove activation lock by restoring to factory settings. You need to use the credentials that were used to set up the device in order to remove the activation lock. I don’t know who you talked to at Apple, but they should have known that unless they misunderstood what you were asking.

Maybe I am misunderstanding what you are saying, so here are the instructions that explain how to put your device into recovery mode.

Apple already removed activation lock, now I just need to put it in recovery mode to get back in it, I forgot the passcode and hadn't set up facial recognition and I took it to best buy and they unlocked it using find my iPad. I thought I knew the apple ID I had set up but it kept telling me it was wrong so I called Apple and sent them my proof of purchase and they removed activation lock and told me to restore it in recovery mode .
