Email Account Being Used By App

I went to check my email this morning, I saw a new email waiting to be sent instead of my inbox. PixiVisor is an app I recently installed, and I saw this name in the email. Is it normal for an app to send and receive emails from a user account, even for diagnostic data? I took a screen print of the email, but I decided not to include it in case there is sensitive info in it. The email account the email was being sent to was a gmail account.
